SUCCESSFUL LEARNING AND TEST TAKING, Age 12-14  Designed for 7th & 8th grade teens. Using imagery techniques and nature’s whole foods, you will learn how to be more comfortable and successful at test taking.   Instructor: Sandy Sherman Joseph, RN, BSN, MA.

AMERICAN RED CROSS BABYSITTERS’ TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION, Age 12-15 This 5-hour course gives teens the information and skills to provide safe, responsible care for children in the absence of parents or guardians.  Bring a lunch and make sure you arrive on time.  Free sodas provided.

SAT Course, Age 9th-12th grade  Due to high demand, the Teen Center is now offering an SAT Classroom Course. This program will include 18 hours of instruction and 4 practice tests in preparation for the October 9th SAT test. Students will learn the most important knowledge, content, and test-taking strategies, review specific math, grammar, and reading concepts, and learn how to write an essay specifically for the SAT test. In addition, students will have access to Princeton Reviews' online student center, and the program comes with their classroom satisfaction guarantee. The program will take place on the following dates/times:

Class Description: Learn the basics for creating simple computer games with Gamemaker. 9 participants. 

    

9641.4101       Wednesday    1:30-3:00pm               Story & Illustration – Cotty Kilbanks

Class Description: Have your own characters and stories? Use pencils, watercolor, pastels, and mixed media. Learn to cartoon, stylize, and storyboard. $10 cash lab fee due to instructor the first class. Instructor Cotty Kilbanks has worked for Warner Brothers, Disney, and Nickelodeon, with an arts degree from Syracuse University. 10 participants. 

 

9642.4101       Thursday        1:30-3:00pm               Molecular Mania – Dr. Steve YoshinagaClass Description: Interactive program for those with a passion for science. Hands-on building the shapes of nature with magnets and zometool balls and struts. We will make models of molecules, viruses, and DNA. $10 lab fee due to instructor the first class. 10 participants.
